If you have been tasked with creating a stand out packaging design for your product, promotion or event, we hope we can provide you with some inspiration here!
3 tips on what you need to consider for your promotional gift packaging ideas:
1) What are you packaging?
Are you planning to package a sample of your product or just a fun gift (like chocolate)? if so, ensure you have the dimensions of the product to ensure it fits in the packaging. From there you can work out what style is possible to create.
2) Can you theme the packaging design around your product or promotion?
For example, Chobani Yogart chose to promote their new pineapple flavoured yougart in pineapple shaped media kit boxes. Or if you're sending gifts to your VIPs at Christmas time, you could supply the gifts in a box the shape of a Christmas tree or wreath for example.
3) What branding do you require on the box? what message do you want to convey and how will it fit in with your overall company's brand image?
We supplied gold foil chocolate gift boxes with embossed print at a special event for Marketing Managers.
The goal was to delight the delegates with an eye catching, unusually shaped gift box that exuded luxury (as we supply high end / luxury packaging and bags). The embossing was to allow subtle messaging and branding, and show our printing capabilities at the same time.
Think about what the end goal is and work your messaging around it.
'Packaging, when done correctly and creatively, is ultimately what sells your product. It draws attention, sends a message, and makes consumers feel a certain way.' (1)
