How to Create an Appealing Media Kit for your Product Launch

​A Media kit tells your target market, prospective collaborators and influencers everything they need to know about your brand.  It is a first impression, which means your media kit should standout.
 
For anyone trying to build a brand, media kits are essential. They are a marketing tool that can help you reach out to clients, showcase your work, and ask for collaborations with influencers.
 
Think of a media kit as your resume – highlight your offerings.
 
A Media Kit is a great opportunity to reflect your personal brand and demonstrate your professionalism. As an establised business you should have already decided on your personal brand style guide – fonts, colours, logos, visuals – so remember to keep any marketing mateials going into your media kit clean and consistent. Create a media kit that resonates your brand.

What to consider in creating your media kit?
 
Your media kit can be a written document or “Think Outside the Box”. Everybody loves to receive a gift. Why not send a media kit presentation box to your prospective target market, collaborators and influencers. Have them try your product first hand.
 
But the gift alone may not sell your pitch or tell your story. That’s why it is important to put it in context and make the connection.

If you are in the cosmetics industry and you have a luxury brand, you might want to try glossy finish, metallic inks, full colour print or coloured spot UV to highlight certain graphics. 
 
  • Timing –  timing is everything. If you've got a product launch coming up, make sure you organise and develop your media kit presentation box at least 3 months in advance to ensure you get your kits out as part of the overall marketing campaign.
