We found some great multi-functional packaging ideas from around the world, which are showcased below. Designing packaging for your product can be a fun and imaginative experience. Think about if your packaging can become multi-functional for your product. When people buy your product, do they need to purchase another product alongside it? (eg like a clothes hanger or labels) if so, think about how you can incorporate that into your packaging design and your customers will love you for it! You can even brand the accompanying, useful product, so your client will remember who they purchased from, and it can even become a conversation piece online (eg on Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook - or at your home or workplace) - so take advantage and have your logo and contact details on the packaging to ensure you get recognition! Discuss with your Graphic or Packaging Designer about options - or if you're stuck on ideas but would really like to make your packaging multi-functional, you could even get in touch with a Marketing Agency, who might be able to think up creative ideas on what you can do, and how you can achieve it. Unique packaging can make you stand out from the crowd and from your competitors, which is all important to winning those sales! Above: This great package design by Jean Guillaume-Blais. It's cord packaging that tears off to become cord ties. Above: this package design called Hangerpak transforms from the pillow box shaped functional mailer box packaging, to a sturdy clothes hanger. Above: this sustainable Expanding Bowl is packaging that has been designed to hold freeze-dried food, then by adding hot water, to expand into a bowl so users can eat directly from it. Created by Anna Glansen and Hanna Billqvist Above: hanging bunches of flowers - perfect for a busy florist, who can present the product beautifully in the shop, with branded bags and the client doesn't waste time getting them packaged. Above: this jewellery packaging turns into a jewellery stand, which is so useful, as anyone with lots of jewellery knows - you can never have too many jewellery stands! - by Green Curry Design Feel free to share some multi-functional product packaging designs that you've found in the comments section below.
